I am not very happy with these boards as I felt I had to rush them due to me not managing my time properly.... I have forgotten to place the text on some of the boards & I feel the layout didn't do them any justice. The campaign could have been so much stronger but I couldn't find a relevant or good enough mock-up for it to enhance the posters.

Final Photos
I was very happy with my final outcome of the photos I also learnt a new skill of the Lightroom as this edits the pictures all together, to give them the same lighting all together. As this is something that I always struggle with getting them all to look the same especially when there all on the same page.

Crafting the Whistles Campaign
I firstly created a mock-up for the floral poster campaign as I knew this was going to be the most difficult of the two. I watched lots of flower making tutorials & created leafs & curled pieces of paper to give more texture & interesting shadows. I created them from different types of paper due to me wanting to create a natural look & this would be best created through using different weights & textures of papers.
For the mens poster campaign I drew bark onto black card and cut them to make thin strips of bark. Although I didn't follow the lines so that was a pointless task.
I then stared layering them up & even tried to actual twigs within installation. But I found this was too much & therefore discarded of them.
These are my finished outcomes:
Developing the Campaign
Earlier on in the project I created a saying that I thought might have been handy for the campaign incase I was going to make a bigger project out of it. Although, now I think it could just be used as part of the poster & giving the poster some action.
Make Your Day Even More Effortless with Whistles.
Therefore its now applying it to the poster.
I have chosen to apply the tagline to the bottom right of the poster by inverting the block colour from the background. I have also applied the line around the end creating an edging to the poster, this links it to the rest of the project too.
I chose to reverse the colours of the poster so that I could have the logos the right way round as this is the crucial point to brand recognition not the background of the image.

Research for Whistles Campaign
I really struggled finding research for perfume campaigns that didn't star people within them. As I didn't want to go for this aesthetic due to not wanting the typical look of a perfume promotion. And also I would find it hard to find the right image or take one of my own as they tend to be more often than not sensual.
I love this campaign, this is one I remembered from seeing it in the past I love the use of the colour & the simplicity yet fussy look. This has given me an idea of creating my own flowers with paper within an arrangement. But I think I would still keep my colour scheme white & black so that people are drawn to wonder.
Spraying Lids
To achieve the colour scheme I wanted I thought it would be a good idea to spray the lids a copper colour to finish the look. This makes the lids now look more expensive & slick.

Bottle Shopping
I bought my glass bottles from Ampulia.
This took a little time to research due to many people only accepting big orders.
I ordered a two of many options as I didn't know what style I wanted and would work best with my work. I didn't want to be caught out and therefor ordered more than what I needed, even in styles that I didn't think I would like so much....
Another problem was me not knowing how big the bottle was going to be from the liquid measurement that was given so therefore ordered different measurements within them too.
This delivery was super fast & the products where just as described.. In the end I ended up using the one that I thought would best suit my project from looking on the site but this was a choice to order all as I could see which would work best and always have a backup.
The one I went with was the square bottle, which allow my packaging to fit snuggly around bottle, with a stopper you can pull up to pull the bottle out of the packaging.
For the scent range bottle I ordered them from naturallythinking.com
This was a good website because you could order one bottle without putting in an order for over 100 & also you paid for your lids separately so you could chose different bottle tops. Therefore I ordered lots of different bottle tops as I wasn't too sure which ones would best suit for the different products I was going to have in the range.
I ordered a variety of bottle which will always come in handy anyway and now I know the best websites for small orders and good service.

Packaging Development
This is the first net I have created for the packaging... I have soon come to this packaging idea as I believe that it strengthens my concept fully. I like how it looks like it will look like it is sitting on a bed of the scent.
I then tested this to make sure it worked & it did so I continued to create it digitally.
I placed all the important ingredients on the bottom with the title of the scent & the important symbols that need to be placed on all perfume packaging.
On the reverse side of the packaging will be the pattern that I created earlier and this is why the net needed to be created digitally.
This is the mens version, I have created a black base as I can't print white ink onto black card & I don't have the time to screen print it. The only other option is to print it fully black onto the white card. But James said that it would crack and therefore not look neat. So the decision has been made that I will not convert the colours of the box but juts use a different coloured bottom & label to differentiate between them both.

Naming Development
I have finally decided on a name:
Cinch: An easy accomplishment, meaning that if you use this scent that it will be an easy acomplishment to smell nice to go with your effortless fashion of whistles.
Now Deciding on how differentiate between the mens & womens.
White & Black is the main differentiation at the moment between the two fashions & therefore I am going to try & play on this too...
White: Pure, Blanc, Cotton,
Black: Midnight, Carbon, Jet
Also I thought about using the scent within the name...
Floral: Cinch Floret
Wood: Cinch Timber.
I think the ones I am going to go with is:
Pure Cinch
Carbon Cinch
As these are the smoothest sounding and the meaning is obvious but not too obvious.

Whistles Research
This is an aftershave from a very famous designer. I thought this would be an appropriate design to look at as this is also stripped back similar to Whistles.
Jo Malone is another similar range to all the others that whistles gave us the names to research into. I think this aesthetic is too vintage for Whistles, I think they want a more abstract & stripped back.
I like, due to the pattern just been applied onto the side of the packaging. It is very subtle but yet effective.
When research into scent ranges this is one that massively stood out to me and I liked the use of the pattern & colour within the project. The die cuts really make the design stand out with the bright contrasting colours.
I love the use of the cut out on the stickers so you can use the liquid as the infill. This is a very good idea... This has however giving me the thought of using copper & white & black as a colour scheme.
This is a brand that whistles suggested we used as inspiration from the brief. This is Byredo. It has a very simple look with just a simple black lid and a plain white label with the black type applied.
I like this packaging for this bottle. You can see above that the box is much bigger than the bottle but this is due to the little information slip you get within the box. When you open it it will give it the wow factor due to it laying facing you rather than the head like typical perfumes.
I like the use of frosting out the bottle to apply the design, although this is something that I wouldn't be able tot achieve at college, so therefore have to mock-up and this is not one of my strengths.
I like the packaging for this box as it reveals the whole bottle. I like how it just drops open this will also give the consumer something their not expecting.
I like the use of the die cut so you can see the bottle inside. You then know what you are buying vague rather than buying into the blind. I like the stock they have used with the slight speckle.
This is a good Idea I like the use of this but this is avaliable due to the special custom orders Le Labo do and I don't think this is appropriate for whistles.
I like the snug fitting for this bottle and the way that the box wraps around it. I think this give it the idea that its going to be extremely special because of the double wrap. The bottle design is nice I like the square white blanc bottle.
This is another stripped back look for the scent range. Although I think this is too stripped back for whistles as they are more sophisicated.
I like idea of having a lid coming three quarters the way down. so you can see the underneath box too. This will mean you can have a snug fit also as you will know that the bottom will fall out and therefore you will be more intense reveal.
I like this shape of the bottle but I think this is just too much going on for Whistles and it needs to be sophisticated like this but simpler.
