I am very pleased with the overall
aesthetic of the cards & believe the concept of interaction works very well
and creates a niche within the market. This was only a week brief but probably
one of the most enjoyable as most of the making was hands on with origami &
trimming the cards.
I wish I would have expanded this
brief into maybe gift bags & tags as this would give it a larger body of
work & would more effective in my portfolio.
What could we improve on?
I feel I could improve on the finishing of the cards due to these being
hand made there are very delicate and therefore they have become a little
demolished over the past few months of storage, I did think about redoing them
but I feel that this could have been as waste of my time as they are not
un-photographic just look a little tatty.
I feel the type could
have been stronger, it is very thin and therefore within some lights becomes
illegible, although I still like the style of the freehand with the icon
attached to the end of each continuous line.
What did I learn?
I learnt
doing a festive brief is beneficial to yourself as a designer. Although, you
are still working you are enjoying what you are doing because you can still
enjoy all the festive research & get into the spirit ready for Christmas.
That my
crafting skills have improved massively since first year. I feel that the
outcome was very strong still to say they was all handcrafted, as lots can go
wrong within the process, not all accidents are happy ones!
