Overall I was very happy with my
packaging for the tea brand. And due to this being a project I started at the
beginning of the year I have had time to refine the packaging, as it wasn’t
quite correct for interim submission.
I wish I could have expanded this
project into a gift range as this was my plan a couple of weeks ago although
lots of other problems popped up and therefore didn’t get chance to create it.
I feel that the amount of time I had reflected on the outcome as there was no
problems other than the lining of the laser cutter but this is always going to
be inevitable.
What could we improve on?
I feel that I could improve on the stock I printed on for the packaging
as it was quite flimsy and marked quite easily. A thicker, rougher stock might
have been more beneficial to the packaging and therefore portrayed more of a
luxury outcome.
I feel that the type
for the titles could be improved on as this could be refined a little so they
all have a similar aesthetic, the icons can sometime be too over powering and
therefore maybe minimising the amount of clutter on the titles could be
beneficial to the tea brand.
What did I learn?
I learnt that
taking the time away from a brief and coming back to it helps out, due to you
see all the faults within the design and hopefully have chance to rectify them.
I learnt to
always print more than one net when applying finishes as it is highly doubtful
that the finish will come out perfect the first time.
I learnt that
to create a packaging with a die cut & innovative opening is not an easy
task due to the die cut not lining up with the background, but not wanting
create a bleed and lose the aesthetic of the overall packaging. You have to
create lots of mock-ups which will probably change every time due cutting and
scoring in different places every time.
