Tony Broomhead Crit

Today we had the opportunity to sign up to crits with Tony Broomhead, I had never really heard of him before but I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet someone new & have some feedback on my design publication as I was still unsure what to do...

When it was my turn I explained my idea of creating a publication about how things have influenced me & how I have influenced my work through that & then what other studios influenced me....

So then they must have thought my idea was boring  or just intrigued by my description, because then Tony mentioned a new idea!

He started saying why don't you create a book to make the packaging for the book?

But then I wasn't too sure on this because the hole point of the packaging is to package a product but then the product will not have anything inside it as it has created the packaging.

Then he mentioned having a scrapbook of my journey through my process so sticking in my nets etc... Although I wasn't too sure on this either as I am quite a tidy person & like everything to be in place not scruff sticking in.

I did like the idea of annotating my nets thought... So creating a net and then circling it and saying why it didn't work and keep going till you get a final net that is complete.

Then you could create a rough sketch of the mock-up made up.... With a red pen to make it stand out.

Then move on to the next part of your methodology & explain your choices there! And so forth....

I liked this idea... I think I am more leaning to this idea as it seams more interesting to be & I think I will find it easier to work out rather than just solely layout as this is not one of my strongest skills.
