Research was rather limited from the start due to the time restrictions not allowing the time for rectifying problems that occur when applying some finishes. Although, this didn't stop me from looking to see if I could have the time what I would have done.
This is foiling that I feel is very luxury, this is not something that I think is appropriate to the packaging for my design publication as my methodology is not elaborate or out there.
This is another foiling method that rather dull compared to the other two. I feel this would be appropriate to my work process although with the time scale I would rather not put pressure on myself to be able to get that done neatly & effectively.
Spot gloss, this is something I have used before but doesn't seem to turn out well I think it may have something to do with the binder they use.... This would be an option and therefore I think I would outsource my material or the actual finished product. Which is something I would rather not do as this will then make it impersonal.
Die cuts are very neat & clean cut which is very like my methodology, theres no weird points within it its just a normal process. Although I do like my work to be organised into files and I think this presents it nicely.
Paragraph for Book.
Today’s consumers are less interested in purchasing products to meet their basic needs & more interested in engaging with brands. This gives me the opportunity to deliver an ultimate emotional experience, to excite the senses. I tend to do this through using finishes to make the packaging more interesting and tactile. To the right are images I have found from research in which have influenced my finishing of my packaging. I have decided that I am going to use a diecut for the logo as this is relevant for the concept of packaging.
