Research For website

I decided that I would look at other websites at other holiday resorts, to get some inspiration on how they categorise and layout out there websites.

I firstly looked at South View Lodge website to see what what was bad & good about it...

So I decided to analyse the website in some depth:

Good: Point of Contact Given.
Nav bar at top
Changing pictures at the front
Information about each lodge.

Bad: I feel that the background needs to be a colour as the white seems very boring for a holiday resort, it will not excite the viewer.
There is too many links on the navigation bar therefore given them too much choice.
The grid deems to be very loose.

I like the colour coded sections at the top. Although this is very fitting with the branding.

This looks very friendly, although I don't like how the logo is to the right as I automatically look to the left and this is where I would expect to find it.... I don't like how the website is not the full way across.

This is very clean & looks simple to work. I don't really like the whole booking on the first page as I would like to know some information first before seeing this.... I am not too sure about having the navigation bar soo high at the top of the wireframe.

This is a very popular holiday resort. And again it has the booking on the first page, I suppose it works when some where is so popular as you are not really having to sell yourself as this is probably from word of mouth etc...

This is a great website. The logo is at the top left hand side which the banner leads your eyes across to the navigation bar.... I like the use of the full bleed of the image across the full page.
